Blues on Sunday features a core trio of nationally and regionally recognized blues musicians.

Players in the core Blues on Sunday Trio are:

Per Hanson, original drummer with Ronnie Earl and the Broadcasters, who has recorded and performed with a Who’s Who of national blues acts including James Cotton, Pinetop Perkins, Charlie Musselwhite, Debbie Davies, Tab Benoit, David Maxwell, Little Milton, and more.

Jon Ross, multi-instrumentalist on bass, guitar, steel, and mandolin, who has toured or recorded with Duke Robillard, Kim Wilson, Joe Louis Walker, Monster Mike Welch, and other blues luminaries.

Nelson Checkoway, multi-instrumentalist on keyboards, guitar, and pedal and lap steel, who has played with the Commander Cody Band, members of the Greg Allman Band, and Dickie Betts’ Great Southern, and who represented Massachusetts in the 2015 International Blues Challenge in Memphis.
