Space and Astronomy Events at Good Will-Hinckley!
Please join the LC Bates Museum's Space and Astronomy events on Wednesday, October 29th! We hope you can join us to learn about space, astronomy, and the animals that rely on dark skies in Maine.
The LC Bates Museum is thrilled to host John Meader, of Northern Stars Planetarium, for a combination of events for all ages. The afternoon kicks off with space themed activities and the traveling planetarium program in Prescott Memorial Hall. The evening talk, in the LC Bates Museum, is on the importance of dark skies and what we can see at night this time of year. Reception to follow, plus take a close up look at our moon rock, tectite, and meteroite collection.
3:00 pm: Space-themed activities at Prescott Memorial Hall, 16 Prescott Drive.
4:00 pm: Planetarium program (in blow up planetarium!) in Prescott Hall auditorium.
6:30 pm: Dark Sky talk and reception following at LC Bates Museum, 14 Easler Road.
Please call 207-238-4250 or email lcbates@gwh.org with any questions!
Please note: Prescott Hall is fully accessible and heated; LC Bates Museum is not full accessible nor fully heated. Talk will occur in a heated room but please dress warmly.
