The Rochester Opera House Invites you to Swim Under the Sea with us for our Summer Production of Disney’s “The Little Mermaid”!

Dive in the magic this summer at The Rochester Opera House by joining Ariel, Sebastian, Ursula, and all your undersea favorites in this enchanting musical adventure based on the beloved Disney classic! Don’t miss the breathtaking costumes, dazzling sets, and unforgettable songs like Part of Your World, Under the Sea, and of course...Kiss the Girl. Starring as “Ariel” this summer will be Eloise Ellis, a former student of The Rochester Opera House’s conservatory. Last year, in the summer of 2024, Ellis starred as “Jesus “in the Opera House’s production of Godspell Jr., while simultaneously performing in the Ensemble of the mainstage production of Godspell. But that wasn’t her first time here at the Opera House. Ellis’s first time performing for at our historic venue was in High School Musical Jr. back in 2017, playing the part of “Ripper”; the cello-playing skater boy. Shortly after, Ellis starred as Tiny Tim in our annual performance of A Christmas Carol; her first professional production.
“I started doing theater when I was seven...and I first played Ariel when I was fifteen at the Derry Opera House,” says Ellis. Though the age of fifteen wasn’t long ago for Ellis considering she is only eighteen years old.
“Tiana is my favorite Disney Princess...am I allowed to say that?” Ellis was cautious to say, though she was crystal clear how quickly she fell in love with Disney’s classical Renaissance cartoon, The Little Mermaid, starring Jodi Benson as the voice of “Ariel”.

After The Little Mermaid sails away, The Producers opens Friday, August 8th at 7:30pm. Get ready for comedy gold to hit The Rochester Opera House! From the genius mind of Mel Brooks comes The Producers; a side-splitting, Tony Award-winning musical that’s equal parts glamour, scandal, and hilarity.

Follow down-on-his-luck producer Max Bialystock, and timid accountant Leo Bloom as they hatch the most outrageous scheme in theater history…to produce a sure-fire flop and make off with the cash. But when their plan backfires in spectacular fashion, the laughs only get louder. Starring Opera House Vets; Marcus Provost and Bill Hartery as Leo and Max. We look forward to hearing those fits of laughter, minor tears, and at least one dramatic spit-take.

The Little Mermaid runs from July 11th-August 2nd, followed by The Producers, running from August 8th – August 31st.
