Join the Windham Public Library & Windham Parks & Recreation for a special inter-generational screening of Cycle of Memory: the new award-winning documentary about two siblings' bicycle adventure to find the memories their grandfather lost to Alzheimer's.
The film is 72 minutes long and will be followed by a Q+A with the filmmaker. Refreshments will be served.
This lively market operates Thursday afternoons 3-6pm May - October. We have 15 seasonal vendors, and a weekly rotation of guest vendors, food trucks and live musicians. Please stop by for your seasonal favorites.
Just drop in during our Tech Help Hour, and a staff member will assist you with whatever your tech needs are. We can help with anything from basic computer questions to using your IPad with the Maine Download Library. This free service is offered every Thursday at 4:00 p.m.
Announcing, PIGEON! 🐦 Come hear Maine writers tell mostly true stories to a live audience, under the patio lights of Congress Square Park in Portland, Maine! Our first of three sessions kicks off Thursday, June 8th from 5-6pm, and features in-person stories by: Jaed Coffin, David Grubb, Tanuja Desai Hidier, Leela Marie Hidier, and Moon Machar.
PIGEON is totally free and each night will have a theme. June 8th’s will be “HOMING.” Think you have something to add to our lineup? Toss your name in our hat the night of the show, and we’ll choose a couple lucky, brave souls to get up on the mic to close the night.
Please join the Bates Arts Collaborative and IMPACT21st (Innovation, Media, Process, Arts, Collaboration and Technology for the 21st Century) in celebrating the opening of Quantum Flora created by Maine artists Cindy Thompson and James LaPlante. Both artists will be present to give an artist talk in the Olin Arts Center (75 Russell Street) at 5:00 PM, after which a reception will be held in Coram Library (42 Campus Avenue), where the exhibition is staged in the new Immersive Media Studio. They will talk about the frontiers of Immersive Art and the persistent quest to be fully consumed by art. The exhibit will be on view in the IMStudio from May 9 to 23.
Quantum Flora is an exploration of the science of nuclear physics at the quantum scale through interaction with a large sculptural form using interactive projected generative art and musical elements. It's an immersive sculptural experience that must be seen to be believed!

You're invited to see what Girl Scouts has to offer—and have some fun with our Pollinator and Friends! Girl Scouts can be themselves, have fun with friends, and change the world—all in an inclusive and safe environment.
During the event, we will:• Provide two FREE hands-on activities to sample our program pillars (STEM, Outdoors, Entrepreneurship, and Life Skills)• Discuss ways to participate, including: o Join as an individually registered Girl Scout. o Join an existing troop in your community. o Starting a new troop—we'll help you succeed!• Answer your questions and provide details on how to get started.
*Girls entering kindergarten in the fall of 2024 can join starting April 1st.
