An informative–and slightly spooky–lamplight tour of York’s Old Burying Ground. The lives of those buried within the hallowed walls of the historic cemetery will be illuminated by guides dressed as 18th-century townsfolk. There are more than 100 gravestones within the burying ground, each with a story to tell about a life–and a death.
Please note that this tour lasts approximately an hour and takes place outside after dark, so please dress warmly. The terrain is uneven, and comfortable walking shoes are recommended. This program is not recommended for those with mobility issues. Guides will have lanterns, but it is recommended that guests bring their own flashlights.
Tour begins promptly at the Lindsay Road entrance to the Museum Center, so please arrive no later than 5 minutes prior to check in. Because the tour size is limited, if you do not check in by the start time of the tour, your ticket may be released to someone on the waiting list. No refunds can be issued within 24 hours of the event.
Step into the shadows of Community Little Theatre, where spirits of the past come alive and stage lights flicker. Are you ready to uncover the sinister secrets lurking behind the curtains? This is not a guided tour—this is a journey into fear. Follow a path through the theatre’s most haunted spaces. Beware: scare actors and jump scares hide behind every corner. Nothing will shield you from the terror waiting in the dark.More details to come on www.laclt.com…

This class introduces the vocabulary of book anatomy, the tools needed for hand book binding and material considerations for making beginner book structures. On the first evening we will explore hand decorated papers, using broad edged mark-making tools and round pointed tip brushes in calligraphic ways. The second night we will stitch two pamphlet books, binding them with soft and hard covers. Finally we will create pocket accordion books and begin to consider how to design an artist book.
