BIDDEFORD, Maine - The mother of a Maine teenager charged with murder in a fire that killed two men says she contacted police several times to report her son had collected bomb-making materials and she was concerned about his behavior.
Dylan Collins is charged with setting the fatal fire Sept. 18.
The Portland Press Herald reportsBiddeford police released call logs that detail efforts by his mother, Donna Pitcher, to get help as early as July 27.
Pitcher says Collins was committed to Southern Maine Health Care in July for a month-long evaluation. A spokeswoman for the hospital declined to comment on the case Friday and could not confirm Collins was admitted.
The fire killed 21-year-old James Ford and 23-year-old Michael Moore and displaced two dozen people in the apartment building.
