Maine State Police Searching for Highway Fire Bug

WATERVILLE, Maine_ Maine State Police are searching for someone who set numerous grass fires Friday morning along a stretch of I-95. Officials from the Maine State Fire Marshal's office, along with rangers from the Forest Service, determined that the six fires that occurred from mile 126 in Waterville to mile 116 in Sidney, southbound, were deliberately set.

As of midday, troopers were looking for what they describe as a white,  newer style sedan, which may have been pulled over or made frequent stops along highway. They also say the sedan may have departed the scenes at a high rate of speed.

All the fires were extinguished by the Waterville and Sidney Fire Departments.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact State Police Troop C  at 207-624-7076.
