U.S. Sen. Cory Booker, a Democrat from New Jersey, will visit Maine Saturday to promote his presidential bid.
Booker, who will be campaigning in New Hampshire this week, has scheduled a stop in Portland for a grassroots fundraiser and happy hour at Thompson's Point.
According to his campaign, Booker will also discuss his plan to tackle climate change, which he released Monday morning.
Booker is the third presidential candidate to visit Maine in recent weeks. Vermont U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders, who, according to national polls, is in the top tier of Democratic hopefuls, held a sold out rally at the State Theatre in Portland on Sunday, and South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg also packed the same venue two weeks ago.
Booker's campaign has yet to break into the top five of the deep Democratic field, but he has qualified for the next primary debate scheduled for Sept. 12.
Booker will appear at Halo at the Point at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
