World War I

The Centennial of World War I: April 6 marks the centennial of the United States' entry into The Great War.  The parallels between then and now, in terms of political issues, rhetoric and dialogue, are striking.  We’ll hear from historians about the War to End All Wars and why this poorly understood war has great relevance to today’s world.

Guests: Richard Rubin, contributes regularly to: The Atlantic, The New York Times, The New Yorker and AARP Magazine.  He is the author of two previous books: Confederacy of Silence and The Last of the Doughboys.  His new book, out April 4, 2017 is BACK OVER THERE: One American Time-Traveler, 100 Years Since the Great War, 500 Miles of Battle-Scarred French Countryside, and Too Many Trenches, Shells, Legends, and Ghosts to Count.
