Fans Unfazed by Portland Sea Dogs' Dismal Record

PORTLAND, Maine - The Portland Sea Dogs' lack of success on the field isn't preventing the minor league baseball team from filling the stands.

The Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, which will host the Eastern League All-Star game on Wednesday, is third in the league for attendance despite falling into last place in the standings.

The Portland Press Herald reports that advance tickets sales for the remainder of the season are up 15 percent for the remainder of the season despite a record of 32-59, with only 13 home victories.

So far, the team has averaged nearly 5,000 fans per game.

Sea Dogs General Manager Geoff Iacuessa says many fans don't even know the team's record. They just want to go to Hadlock Field and have a good time.
