FHS Student Movie "A Poison Tree"

FHS Student Movie "A Poison Tree"
Rochester, NH, March 26, 2024 — The students of Farmington High School are returning to the Rochester Opera House and they are bringing their movie “A Poison Tree” with them. This year’s movie centers around a family dealing with the death of their sister. After her death, the person responsible for it is set free on bail and potentially may never see jail time. This causes the family to spiral downward and they must formulate a plan to overcome their grief. The movie is inspired by the short story “A Poison Tree” and Todd Field’s directed movie “In the Bedroom”.
Movie night has been afoot since 2010 and this is Farmington High School’s third time appearing at the Rochester Opera House. The New Hampshire Council of Arts awarded the program a grant this year which allowed the students and movie to grow socially and educationally. Students who participate in this program have moved on to use their skills professionally and in college.
The event is free to the public but patrons are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to support the local food bank. Doors will open at 5 with the movie starting at 6.
