Whole Foods Recalls 2 Types of Salad in 7 States

BOSTON - Whole Foods Market has recalled curry chicken salad and deli pasta salad sold in its stores in seven Northeast states because of possible listeria contamination.

The salads sold in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York and New Jersey were sold prepackaged, in salad bars, in chef's cases and in sandwiches and wraps prepared in the stores.

They were sold from Oct. 18 until Oct. 22 and have a sell-by date of Oct. 23. The contamination was found during a sampling of the products during a routine inspection. No illnesses have been reported.

Listeria can cause fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea and is potentially fatal.

Anyone who purchased the products should throw them away and bring their receipt to the store for a refund.
