WINTER HARBOR, Maine (AP) _ More than 1,500 Hancock County, Maine, residents are without power as utility crews investigate what caused a power outage.
Utility Emera Maine says 1,527 customers lost power Wednesday afternoon. Most of the customers are in Winter Harbor, South Gouldsboro, and surrounding areas. An Emera spokesman says a broken telephone pole appears to be the cause of the accident.
The Emera spokesman says power will likely return to the area around 5 p.m., if not sooner. The utility originally estimated power would return at 2 p.m., but pushed the time back because of complications with replacing the pole.
