Man Killed in Paper Mill Accident Fell 28 Feet

RUMFORD, Maine (AP) _ Officials say a worker who died at a paper mill in Rumford, Maine, fell 28 feet from a crane.  The mill is owned by NewPage Corporation.

Police identified the victim as 35-year-old Brant Munster of Newport. He was an employee of Pittsfield crane company Somatex Inc., which was doing repair work on the crane.

Rumford police Chief Stacy Carter said Munster was pronounced dead at the scene on Monday.

The Sun Journal newspaper reported that it was fifth fatality at the paper mill in the past 35 years. Four workers died during the time the mill was owned and operated by Mead Corp.
