AUGUSTA, Maine - Officials say that one person has been injured in a shooting involving a police officer at a former hospital in Augusta.
The Kennebec Journal reports that the shooting occurred Monday afternoon inside the former location of the MaineGeneral Medical Center.
Deputy Chief Jared Mills said there is no danger to the public and that the police officer was not injured. The person who was shot was taken to MaineGeneral Medical Center, which recently moved.
The names of the people who were involved in the shooting and the extent of their injuries were not immediately available.
