WATERBORO, Maine (AP) _ Officials say a Maine deputy sheriff was injured during the arrest of man they say attacked his former girlfriend and a male companion while they were sleeping.
York County Sheriff William King says deputies were called to a Waterboro residence at about 1 a.m. Saturday.
King says say 30-year-old Eric Olin of Parsonsfield broke into the home of his ex-girlfriend and assaulted the couple.
After Olin arrested, King says he lunged at Sgt. Steven Thistlewood _ knocking him down and causing injuring a knee ligament.
Officials say Olin is charged with two counts of assault and violating conditions of his release stemming from an earlier domestic violence incident involving the same woman.
Olin was jailed pending a court appearance Monday. It was not immediately known if he has a lawyer.
