FREEPORT, Maine (AP) _ Wolfe's Neck Woods State Park is bringing nature to the public on Christmas weekend with a program about how plants and animals survive Maine's harsh winters.
The Freeport park is presenting a program called ``Winter in the Woods'' at 2 p.m. on Sunday. The guided nature program will begin at the benches by the second parking lot. It will focus on Maine's winter ecosystems.
The program is free with park admission, which is $3 for most Maine residents. A spokesman for the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry says the event is weather permitting. The spokesman also says the event will go on despite this year's mild winter.
