FRYEBURG, Maine -The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency has arrested two people in Western Maine on charges of heroin trafficking. DerrekVerrill, 26, and Gayle Gilmore, 18, both of Sweden, were each charged with Class A and Class C trafficking charges.
Authorities allege that Verrill and Gilmore had been making weekly trips to Massachusetts to purchase heroin for resale in Maine. The pair was arrested in Fryeburg without incident Friday. Authorities say they seized 600 doses of heroin with an approximate street value of $10,000 from the pair.
Verrill and Gilmore were transported to Oxford County Jail where bail was set for Verrill at $15,000 cash. Gilmore's bail was set at $5,000 cash.
Investigation is continuing and additional arrests are expected.
