Vote On Maine Vaccination Law Will Take Place Presidential Primary Day

State election officials say a people's veto effort to repeal Maine's new vaccination law has qualified for the ballot, and that the vote that will take place on presidential primary day, March 3, 2020. Mainers for Health and Parental Rights is trying to repeal the law that requires all students attending Maine schools to be vaccinated unless medically exempt.

State law for the people’s veto requires submission of at least 63,067 valid signatures collected from registered Maine voters. That’s 10 percent of the total votes cast in the last gubernatorial election.

State officials say the campaign has submitted more than 79, 000 valid signatures.

He graduated from Mount Blue High School in 1970 before going to the University of Maine at Orono where he received his BA in speech in 1974 with a broadcast concentration.
