CDC Reports 3 New Deaths, 52 More Cases Of COVID-19 In Maine

The Maine Center for Disease Control Thursday is reporting 52 more cases of COVID-19 and three new deaths, for a total of 84.

The total number of confirmed cases in the state has now reached 2,189. Seven hundred and three cases are currently active.

As the number of cases rises to 2,189, the CDC is tracking three new outbreaks. Five cases have been confirmed at Milestone Recovery in Portland, three at the Auburn-based Happy Haven Home for individuals with intellectual disabilities, and CDC Director Dr. Nirav Shah says the CDC has also identified an outbreak at Tambrands in Auburn.

"Where we are currently aware of seven cases. That investigation is currently underway right now."

The CDC is also testing seven employees who work at the State Emergency Operations Center in Augusta who are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.
