Mills To Address UN General Assembly About The Effects Of Climate Change In Maine

Gov. Janet Mills is speaking to the United Nations General Assembly in New York Monday afternoon about Maine's effort to combat climate change.

The governor’s office says that Mills was personally invited to speak by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, and that she will be the first Maine governor to speak before the UN. Mills will be participating in the UN Climate Action Summit.

On Tuesday the governor will participate in a meeting with European Union officials to discuss how the U.S. and European nations can work together to combat climate change.
