For fans of Shakespeare, summer is a great time to see productions of works by the Bard. We’ll learn which plays are being performed in Maine, what’s being done to keep Shakespeare in the public eye, and why his work remains relevant today.

Caroline Bicks, professor, Stephen E. King Chair in Literature, Department of English, University of Maine She has written several books about Shakespeare including, most recently, Cognition and Girlhood in Shakespeare's World. Co-creator and co-host of the Everyday Shakespeare podcast. She is also the co-author of Shakespeare, Not Stirred: Cocktails for Your Everyday Dramas
Katelyn Manfre, board member, Fenix Theatre Company, Portland; Former Humanities Program Coordinator at the Folger Shakespeare Library and former Teaching Artist for Shakespeare Theatre Company
Stephen Legawiec, Producing Artistic Director of Camden Shakespeare Festival, which he founded in 2013

Jonathan was born in Monsey, New York. A field trip to Washington, DC when he was in 7th grade started him on his circuitous path to a career in public radio. The trip inspired a love of politics and led to his desire to one day call DC home. After graduating from Grinnell College, he worked on a couple of campaigns in Iowa (presidential and congressional) and moved to Washington, DC.
