Art Break at Colby Museum: Sail Away by Phong Bui
Art Break at Colby Museum: Sail Away by Phong Bui
Join us on the first and third Thursday of each month during the academic semesters to spend time with a work of art on view in the Colby College Museum of Art's galleries. This week, Mirken Family Postbaccalaureate Fellowship in Museum Practice Sae Gleba and Anne Lunder Leland Curatorial Fellow Henry Merges will facilitate a conversation about Sail Away by Phong Bui in the exhibition Everyday Devotions: Gifts from the Alex Katz Foundation and Beyond.
Art Break programs are grounded in the practice of slow looking, an educational approach that asks people to give patient, immersive attention to a work of art as a way to make connections and create meaning for yourself. These looking experiences are facilitated by museum staff, interns, community collaborators, and special guests.
