LEARN@UMC Workshop: Master the UMC Resource Library - Training in Funding Research, Wealth Screening, and Organizational Data
LEARN@UMC Workshop Series Expands Equitable Fundraising Access for Rural Nonprofits.
United Midcoast Charities (UMC) will host the next session in its LEARN@UMC workshop series on February 11 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the UMC office in Camden. The workshop will offer hands-on, expert-led training designed to help small and rural nonprofits build fundraising capacity and access tools that are often out of reach due to geography and cost.
The session will provide guided instruction using Foundation Directory Online, GuideStar Pro, and iWave donor prospecting software, giving participants practical experience researching funders, identifying donor prospects, and strengthening fundraising strategies. Nonprofits are invited to schedule appointments to continue using these tools at the UMC office following the workshop.
The LEARN@UMC workshop series is part of UMC’s broader commitment to strengthening nonprofit capacity across Knox and Waldo Counties. By centralizing training, expertise, and access to professional tools, UMC helps small and rural nonprofits build long-term sustainability and focus more fully on delivering essential services in their communities.
“We consistently hear from nonprofits that access matters,” said Becca Gildred, Executive Director at United Midcoast Charities. “By bringing hands-on training and fundraising tools closer to home, we’re helping rural organizations spend less time overcoming barriers and more time serving their communities.”
Registration is now open. The workshop is free to all area nonprofits. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged. To RSVP, call 207-236-2299 or email admin@unitedmidcoastcharities.org.
