Seed Sowing Workshop
Seed Sowing Workshop
A hands-on seed sowing workshop and gardening event will be held on Saturday Feb. 7 at 10am at the Lamoine Consolidated School. Seeds, potting mix, and other materials will be provided free of charge, and participants will be able to bring home their milk jug planters for planting in their home gardens. The event will be led by Madison Jones, proprietor of Seal Point Farm, a local flower farm. Madison has a degree in Sustainable Agriculture from the University of Maine, Orono, and she is a member of the Lamoine Conservation Commission, which is sponsoring the event. Madison will talk about ecologically minded gardening practices and field questions from participants. The seeds that will be provided to participants include native ornamentals, including host plants for monarch butterflies and other nectar flowers. The workshop is open to all ages.
