Winter Harbor Music First Friday Concerts presents Ad Libitum
Join the Ad Libitum Ensemble, Elizabeth Downing, flutist, Anatole Wieck, violinist and Marina Minken, pianist on a musical journey through three centuries of Chamber Music. The program will feature a famous "Kegelstatt" trio by Mozart, an eloquent and colorful pair of Interludes by Ibert, a playful and evocative "Promenades” by Martinu and a lesser known work by Italian American composer Vittorio Rieti.
The Ad Libitum Ensemble was formed in 1995 to perform music from the Baroque era as well as lesser known classical and contemporary works. The name Ad Libitum reflects quite well the stylistic diversity and the time span of the ensemble’s repertoire. Depending on chamber music setting the ensemble employs different combinations of instruments in addition to piano or harpsichord including violins, flutes, baroque cello and the recorder.
