Come try out water polo with Southern Maine Water Polo! We are a club that welcomes all newcomers. The only requirement for the sport is that you are an experienced swimmer. Scottish Country Dance is the ballroom dance of Scotland, done in longwise sets of several couples. We meet weekly to learn and enjoy the dances. All dances are taught. We recommend soft soled, flexible shoes. Bring a water bottle. There is a beginner/preview session at 5 p.m. by request. Note, we do not dance during the month of December.
The Camden International Film Festival (CIFF) is celebrating its 21st edition! CIFF will feature a slate of boundary-pushing documentary films and filmmakers from across the globe. The festival will take place in person from September 11 to September 14 at various venues throughout Camden and Rockland.
This is one of the preeminent film festivals in Maine and beyond and it really is a special experience to attend one of their screenings surrounded by other film lovers. This year’s lineup spans 26 features and 28 shorts from 32 countries, masterclasses with Raoul Peck and Geeta Gandbhir, and the return of audience favorites like the Points North Pitch and our free Shorts series.
The feature slate includes 17 U.S., North American, and World Premieres, with new films by acclaimed directors Raoul Peck, Sky Hopinka, Lee Anne Schmitt, Kamal al Jafari, Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin, Geeta Gandbhir, Brittany Shyne and Reid Davenport.
