Air Quality Alert Issued For Parts Of Maine On Tuesday

Unhealthy air is being forecast again for Wednesday in parts of Maine.

The Maine Department of Environmental Protection says high ozone levels will make air “unhealthy for sensitive groups” for the southern coast and midcoast, including the high elevations of Acadia National Park.

DEP says while a front is forecast to be moving through Maine Wednesday afternoon and evening, right now it looks like the front will weaken and break apart before reaching the coast. If that happens, ozone levels will remain high long enough to reach the “unhealthy for sensitive groups” range along the coast from Kittery through Acadia National Park.

Particle pollution is forecast to be moderate statewide.
