Maine Working on 2 New Moosehead Lake Trails

GREENVILLE, Maine (AP) _ Maine officials say construction work is underway on two hiking paths that will be part of an expanded network of trails in the Moosehead Lake area near Greenville.

The Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry's Bureau of Parks and Lands says the trails are called Number Four Mountain Trail and Eagle Rock Trail.

Officials say Number Four Mountain Trail is a redesign of an existing trail and might be completed as soon as mid-August.

Eagle Rock Trail is a new 3.7-mile trail from the Moore Bore area to Big Moose Mountain's northwest ridge and is expected to be completed in August.

The parks and lands bureau says the entire expanded trail network will likely be finished by 2018.
