A woman found dead Friday afternoon at her Cape Elizabeth home as a fire burned in her kitchen, died of natural causes.
State Police Spokesman Steve McCausland says a post mortem examination indicates that 65 year old Lamy Alkurdy likely suffered a medical event while cooking.
A fire subsequently broke out on the unattended stove.
According to WGME TV, Alkurdy was well liked by neighbors and had lived at the residence on Starboard Drive for several years. An autopsy was conducted on Saturday.
