AUGUSTA, Maine - Maine Attorney General Janet Mills is the keynote speaker at a daylong event focusing on common scams and fraud in Maine.
AARP is hosting the so-called "Scam Jam'' on Thursday at the Augusta Civic Center.
In addition to Mills, participants include U.S. Postal Inspector Michael Desrosiers and representatives from the Bureau of Consumer Credit Protection, the Maine Office of Securities, and AARP Maine.
The event is aimed at raising awareness about scams targeting Mainers like identity theft, credit card fraud, online and impostor scams, and investment fraud.
