Eves' Lawsuit Expands to Include Additional Damages

AUGUSTA, Maine - Attorneys for House Speaker Mark Eves have filed a notice with the state Attorney General that they are seeking damages under state law for Gov. Paul LePage's interference in Eve's job at Good Will-Hinckley school.

Eves was fired as Good Will-Hinckley's president after LePage sent a note to school officials saying he would block state funding it was expecting if they did not fire Eves, who LePage considers unqualified for the job.

The state claim will be folded into the pending federal lawsuit Eves has against LePage.
