AUGUSTA, Maine_ Hundreds of Mainers got a personal tour of the Blaine House by Governor LePage as the First Family conducted its annual holiday food drive. First Lady Ann LePage says they've done one every year since the Governor LePage was elected.
"First couple years we used to distribute it. In fact I took a van load up to Aroostook County one year and then I went down to the Sanford area." said the First Lady on Saturday. "But now, the last couple years we're just giving it to the Good Shepherd Food bank and let them distribute it."
LePage says that the amount of food collected has increased with each year, with last year bringing in about 2800 pounds of food. "I am not quite sure if we are going to beat it but we got a great start this morning!"
It's the fifth holiday food drive the First Family has conducted.
