BAR HARBOR, Maine - The Maine Department of Environmental Protection is warning of unhealthy ozone levels for sensitive individuals in parts of the state.
The warning on Monday came as the temperature climbed toward 90 for a second day in a row.
In Augusta, elementary schools were being dismissed early because of the heat.
The ozone warning applies to southwest coast and Midcoast, including Acadia National Park. The rest of the state is not subject to the warning.
Officials say that the elderly, children and people with health problems should limit outdoor physical activities in the affected areas.
