Colby College in Waterville recently hosted a talk by Frances Moore Lappe, entitled: Food as Teacher: Four Decades Later, What Have We Learned?
Frances Moore Lappé, best-selling author of Diet for a Small Planet and 17 books since, shares her personal journey, from her first epiphany about world hunger in Berkeley’s library back in 1970 to her most current work, including her upcoming challenge to the World Food Prize. She’ll speak not just to dietary and personal choices, but to the politics of food, answering questions about the root causes of hunger, the role of GMOs, and the conditions we create as a society that bring out the best and worst in us.
This talk was recorded October 1, 2013, Ostrove auditorium at Colby College in Waterville.
