Heart of Ellsworth will host the 7th Annual Art of Ellsworth: Maine Craft Weekend from Friday, Oct. 4, through Sunday, Oct. 6. The event celebrates the city’s budding art scene and rich creative spirit with live music, open studio activities, creative demonstrations and workshops, as well as products for sale from local artisans.

The weekend kicks off with the grand opening of a new makerspace located at 16 State Street, Ellsworth, on Friday, Oct. 4, at 5 p.m. The grand opening will include a ribbon cutting, an opportunity to explore the space and light refreshments. It will also feature the space’s first art exhibition, “The Life of the River,” highlighting works by local Ellsworth High School students.
