Evening Social with Susan Ramsey and Ruth Fogg

Evening Social with Susan Ramsey and Ruth Fogg

The Maine Highlands Council for the Arts will present their next Evening Social on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at 5:30 PM at the Central Hall Commons, 152 E. Main Street, Dover-Foxcroft. This month, they are featuring local artists Susan Ramsey and Ruth Fogg.
Ruth Fogg started playing the cello at the age of nine. She was soon accepted into the Greater Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra and studied with BSO cellist, Mischa Nieland. After several years at the Boston University School of Fine Arts, Ruth switched gears and entered the military. She has kept her passion for playing the cello throughout her varied careers in engineering. Ruth has performed as substitute cellist for the Bangor Symphony Orchestra, and currently plays with North Country Strings.
Susan Ramsey made her first public violin performance at the age of
seven. By the time she was fifteen, Susan was playing professionally
with the Erie Philharmonic Orchestra. In 1986, Susan earned her degree
in Music Performance at Smith College, and since then has performed chamber music for many years. Susan also performs with Maine
singer/songwriter David Mallett, and composes and arranges music for
North Country Strings, an acoustic folk ensemble. She runs a private studio at Central Hall in Dover-Foxcroft and directs the Foxcroft Academy String Program.
Susan and Ruth have been making music together for over 16 years and are known throughout the area for their excellence in many types of music performed with flair.

Admission is free. Refreshments will be served.

Before the Evening Social, at 5 pm, please join us at a brief end-of-season celebration and toast for the Dementia-Inclusive Garden at 148 East Main Street, Dover-Foxcroft (next to Central Hall Commons).
