In Independent Life: The Story of Edith Barry
In Independent Life: The Story of Edith Barry
On the occasion of her 140th birthday, this event explores the life of Brick Store Museum founder Edith Barry (1884-1969). An artist and world traveler, she never married and was a truly "independent woman." Discussion will be accompanied by displays of Ms. Barry's artwork, travel memorabilia, and family documents, many of which are rarely on display. Refreshments will include desserts made from Edith's Cookbook: Treasured Recipes & Women’s Lives, a collection of recipes, biographies of the creators, and current historian and local chef commentary. Tickets, and book, are available for purchase at the Museum and on-line at www.brickstoremuseum.org.
