The Rockport Garden Club will hold its May monthly meeting on Thursday, May 1st, 2025 with Kurt Snyder as the guest speaker, starting promptly at 1 p.m. The program will highlight Landscaping with Stones. Learning where stones are sourced in Maine, why different stones are selected for various purposes and locations: e.g. Dry and wet stone walls, seating, patios, walkways and other designs.For more than 25 years Stonescape has exemplified exceptional quality in stone masonry, landscaping and design.
The meeting will be held at the West Rockport Baptist Church at 545 Park Street, West Rockport. The entrance is from the parking lot at the end of the building. Weekly drop-in mahjong game. All levels of experience welcome (beginners given instruction).We play Asian style mah jongg (easier to learn) rather than American style (which requires purchase of annual card).We have multiple sets of tiles, so we simply add tables if more than 4 people show up.Best to text/call 207-572-2414 to confirm game will occur on any given date, but you are welcome to drop-in.

Together, we'll explore how your art or craft appeals to customer needs and wants while also supporting your own livelihood.

This session can be a first step to a more refined plan.
Whether you have a business plan you’d like to refresh or need to start from scratch, come prepared to think, imagine and articulate your business intention with the support of other participants.

The intersection of domestic abuse, healthcare, and law enforcement
The intersection of domestic abuse, healthcare, and enforcement is one of the most difficult challenges facing our communities today. Learn more about how organizations right here in midcoast Maine are working together to overcome domestic abuse and support those in our communities who grapple with this concern day after day. This special event includes our new film featuring the stories of two survivors of domestic abuse followed by a panel discussion including Rebekah Paredes, Executive Director from New Hope Midcoast, Julie LeBlanc, the Regional Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner (SAFE) Program Coordinator at MaineHealth Waldo, Pen Bay, and Lincoln Hospitals, Detective Matthew Ryan of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, as well as a client featured in the film. Audience questions are encouraged.
