Waterville Creates and the Waterville Opera House present Waterville Rocks! Waterville Rocks is a free, family-friendly concert series held at beautiful Head of Falls in downtown Waterville each summer. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs. In the case of rain, the show will be held inside the Waterville Opera House.

Beer garden and food truck opens at 6pm, music starts at 7pm each night.
Art Rocks at Waterville Rocks! Join us at each concert for a fun and free art-making activity! 6-8pm

Shakespeare's dazzling comedy, A Midsummer Night's Dream, weaves together romance, magic, and delightful chaos into an unforgettable dream. Come join us for an interactive frolic through the woods!

The show runs three weeks:
July 17-20 and July 24-27 (Thursdays through Sundays) at Indian Trail Park in Brewer

The Acadia Dance Festival returns to Mount Desert Island for its sixth season, presenting acclaimed contemporary dance company Nimbus Dance in collaboration with musicians from the Bar Harbor Music Festival. This annual celebration of movement and music brings world-class performance and dance education to Downeast Maine.

On Saturday at 11 a.m., Nimbus presents a Family Matinee, a relaxed and engaging program suited for children ages 3 and up. This colorful performance features narrative dances and includes appearances by local youth from Camp Beech Cliff and the Acadia Dance Festival Intensive.

Local students ages 14–22 can take part in the Acadia Dance Festival Intensive, held at ArtWaves MDI from July 28 to August 2. Participants train with Nimbus faculty in ballet and contemporary dance and engage in workshops covering improvisation, injury prevention, and more. Younger dancers can join the Nimbus Dance Specialty Camp at Camp Beech Cliff. Students from both programs will perform at the Criterion Theatre alongside Nimbus’s professional company.

An emerging voice in the Americana world, Jobi Riccio fuses folk, country, and indie rock. With storytelling that’s both intimate and expansive, Riccio’s music explores identity, place, and emotional honesty.

Enjoy spectacular video clips of virtuoso performances by opera's greatest stars, including Maria Callas. Hosted and annotated by John Curtis. The program aims to gratify both opera aficionados and newcomers. This ongoing series is presented free of charge as a public and educational service by the Old Surry Village School Preservation Group. More info (207) 667-4877.

Don has a unique and uncanny ability to sing comfortably in the tenor range of Vince Gill, Chris Isaak or Dan Fogelberg, and go easily into the subbass vocal level range of country greats Josh Turner and Johnny Cash. Don Campbell’s music resides in the home of “American crossover” akin to the Eagles and John Cougar Mellencamp.

Don Campbell’s mandate is to “Always perform for the audience, never at them.” He is a highly-talented multi-instrumentalist and plays acoustic guitar, piano, B3 Organ, bass, electric guitar, nylon string guitar, mandolin and harmonica in recordings.

Don won a $50,000.00 Grand Prize at Nashville’s Grand Ol’ Opry with his original music, a Grand Prize custom Gibson Les Paul guitar from Jim Beam’s Back Room Band Search, and he’s a six-time winner of the title, “Maine’s Best Singer-Songwriter” from the Maine Sunday Tele- gram’s Annual Reader’s Poll. He has also received recognition for his Double CD Release, Kites To Fly – Celebrating The Music of Dan Fogelberg. Officially endorsed in April of 2014 by the Fogelberg Association of Peoria, he and bandmates tour the country performing “An Evening of Dan Fogelberg Music.

For the first time ever, EAC is hosting a Mermaid Ball in conjunction with the city-wide Mermaid Festival! Our downstairs gallery will be transformed into an underwater wonderland with decor designed by artist Amy Ray. Hundreds of iridescent balloons will cascade around hanging lights illuminating silver tablecloths set with glowing centerpieces to provide a truly magical experience. Wear your finest mermaid inspired attire and dance to music by DJ Catherine Lee. Refreshments available.

Come and join the fun on Friday, August 1! The ball starts at 7 pm; tickets are $25 per person, $40 per couple with proceeds supporting EAC programs.
