Join us for a Career Fair and Hiring Event at Spruce Mountain High School, Jay on May 9, 2024. 12:30-2:00 will be career exploration and job opportunities for Spruce Mountains Students ONLY. From 2:30-3:30pm the event will be open to ALL job seekers and the greater community.
Join the Windham Public Library & Windham Parks & Recreation for a special inter-generational screening of Cycle of Memory: the new award-winning documentary about two siblings' bicycle adventure to find the memories their grandfather lost to Alzheimer's.
The film is 72 minutes long and will be followed by a Q+A with the filmmaker. Refreshments will be served.
Announcing, PIGEON! 🐦 Come hear Maine writers tell mostly true stories to a live audience, under the patio lights of Congress Square Park in Portland, Maine! Our first of three sessions kicks off Thursday, June 8th from 5-6pm, and features in-person stories by: Jaed Coffin, David Grubb, Tanuja Desai Hidier, Leela Marie Hidier, and Moon Machar.
PIGEON is totally free and each night will have a theme. June 8th’s will be “HOMING.” Think you have something to add to our lineup? Toss your name in our hat the night of the show, and we’ll choose a couple lucky, brave souls to get up on the mic to close the night.

During the event, we will:• Provide two FREE hands-on activities to sample our program pillars (STEM, Outdoors, Entrepreneurship, and Life Skills)• Discuss ways to participate, including: o Join as an individually registered Girl Scout. o Join an existing troop in your community. o Starting a new troop—we'll help you succeed!• Answer your questions and provide details on how to get started.
*Girls entering kindergarten in the fall of 2024 can join starting April 1st.

Join Esopus editor Tod Lippy and co-curator Megan Carey, Barbara Alfond director of exhibitions and publications at the Colby Museum, to celebrate the museum’s A Lot More Inside: Esopus Magazine exhibition. This closing reception will feature a display of the zines created during the Magazine-Making Workshop series.
Acclaimed author, comic storyteller, innkeeper, Cindy Pierce will perform in Portland in Kittery in May. Pierce’s latest solo show is called Keeping It Inn – an intimate, rousing portrayal of her functioning, dysfunctional family. Cindy Pierce wrote, produced, and stars in the show. She plays the role of her mother, Nancy Pierce, through six decades of raising seven kids and running an inn. Critics call the show “funny, absorbing, and honest.”

The 30th Annual Maine Fabric Fair hosted by the Women's Auxiliary of The Salvation Army will be held on Friday May 10, from 9 until 2, and Saturday May 11, from 9 until 11:30 at Amvets Hall, 148 North Road, Yarmouth. An amazing selection of fabric (quilting cotton, wool, upholstery, apparel and specialty), yarn, notions, arts and craft supplies, and books will be available at super low prices. Bring shopping bags. Cash and check only.
