The Portland Community Chorus (PCC) proudly presents "Our Maine:A Choral Celebration of Maine's People, Places, and Stories — a joyful, heartfelt tribute to the spirit and soul of the Pine Tree State! From rugged coastlines to quiet forests, from legendary figures to everyday Mainers, Our Maine celebrates the stories that define us.
The program honors Maine's literary and historical icons — including Longfellow, Sarah Orne Jewett, and Joshua Chamberlain — alongside contemporary voices such as bestselling author Stephen King. The concert will feature the talents of renowned Maine singer-songwriter and PCC member Doug Kolmar and the lively bluegrass quartet Borderline 207. Saturday's concert also features recent American Idol contestant, Julia Gagnon. ASL interpretation will also be provided on Saturday.
A major highlight will be the world premiere choral arrangement of Maine’s State Ballad, by Griffin Sherry of The Ghost of Paul Revere. This stirring new arrangement captures the song’s deep emotion and connection to Maine’s heritage, offering audiences a powerful and moving experience.
With over a hundred voices strong, the Portland Community Chorus invites you to jointhis musical love letter to Maine — a celebration of its people, places, and stories, pastand present.
Join the Queer Makers Market at Mechanics’ Hall for a cozy afternoon of shopping for homemade goods.
The Queer Makers’ Market is a regularly occurring market made up of local makers, artists, and peddlers of the weird and wonderful who identify as a part of the lgbtqia+ community.
The market is free to enter and runs from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM. No registration required.
The market will take place on Saturday, December 6 and Sunday, December 7.

Mechanics’ Hall is located at 519 Congress Street. Our main entrance is between Loquat Shop and the Art Mart. The Greater Portland Metro’s Congress & Casco Street Stop is directly in front of our building, served by routes 1, 7, 8, and 9B.
Parking is available at the Arts District Garage, which has entrances on Casco and Brown Street, with a rate of $5 per hour. Metered street parking is available on Congress, Casco, Cumberland, Free Street, and other nearby streets. Free hourly street parking is available between Parris and Alder Street.
ACCESSIBILITY
To enter our building, patrons will need to navigate a single step or use a modular wheelchair ramp. There is a wheelchair-accessible elevator to the third-floor ballroom.

This holiday season, UScellular, now part of T-Mobile, is giving back to the Bangor community by providing free admission to two holiday movies. The company is taking over the Bangor Mall Cinemas 10 on December 6 and showing Polar Express and ELF at no cost. Seats are limited, and people are encouraged to register for their free tickets at movieregistration.uscellular.com.
This movie theater takeover is part of UScellular and T-Mobile’s “Better Together” holiday giving program, and community members are also invited to join in giving back by donating canned cat and dog food, blankets and towels soft dog treats, toys, and more at any local UScellular retail store.
