Portland’s First Friday Art Walk is a free self-guided tour of art galleries, art studios, museums, and alternative art venues on the first Friday of every month from 5-8pm. Its mission is to open the doors of Portland’s visual arts community by joining together and introducing a wider audience to the unique vitality of the artists and venues of Portland, promoting interest with non-exclusivity and easy-access, thereby strengthening the arts and community through diversity and celebration.
The winter Open Mic series continues tonight with Emcee Eric Lowe. Mic goes live at 6pm, doors for sign-ups open at 5:30pm. $5 cover charge for all, cash only. Mic time is limited to 2 songs or 10 minutes or less (for poetry, comedy, story-telling), but depending upon sign-ups there may be a chance to get up to the mic a second time during the evening. Cold drinks available at the bar, and our fantastic volunteer Friends group will have chili & cornbread & coffee & dessert available for sale – cash only, no credit cards accepted during Open Mic.
