The Friends of Libby Library will be hosting their annual book sale to open the season inside the library on 5/2 & 5/3. Come any time we’re open (9:30am – 6:00pm on Friday and 10:30am – 2:30pm on Saturday) to browse the sale and get some great books at an even better bargain! All the money raised during the book sale goes to supporting library programs and events. Things like our in-house movie license, some of the museum passes we offer, and honorariums to bring in author talks & more are all supported by the funds provided by the Friends, and we couldn’t be more grateful!

Visit Richard Boyd Art Gallery in May to see a magnificent annual exhibition of original oil paintings. Whether you are someone who appreciates the beauty of fine art or an avid collector, this exhibit will captivate and inspire you with a selection of paintings in a range of styles from the magnificently layered optics of pointillist style landscapes to brilliantly textured abstracts.
The exhibit is comprised of a collection of exquisite paintings, each telling a unique story through the rich textured medium of oil and showcases the talents of esteemed artists. Among them Deena S. Ball a nationally renowned art educator and art instructor known for her plein air landscape paintings; Patricia Chandler a distinguished nationally renowned fine and commercial artist, art instructor, illustrator, and retired art educator acclaimed for her knowledge and ability to convey powerful emotions through her art; Carrin Culotta known for her traditional style plein air and in studio landscapes; Kevin Daley recognized for his landscape paintings; Tim Eaton a distinguished commercial and fine artist recognized for his landscape paintings and beautifully textured abstract works; HM Saffer II an internationally renowned, award-winning performing and visual artist famed for his magnificently layered pointillist style landscape paintings.
Although each artist has their own style and approach to using the medium, they are joined by a passion – painting with oils. The exhibit is open free of charge from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily from May 1st through May 30th, 2025.

Sports are the source of popular lore, legend, tall tales and poignant histories across cultures. This exhibition showcases renowned illustrators’ vision of a wide range of sports. Long Pose Figure Drawing
Saturday, May 3, 1 - 4 PM in the Fine Arts Studio
We are reviving our long pose figure drawing sessions. Like our Thursday sessions, the long pose sessions will feature a live, nude model and there will be no drawing instruction provided. The session will start with a series of gestural warm ups and then will feature a pose that spans the majority of the time, with the model taking a break about every 20 minutes.
If you don't have supplies, feel free to use our easels, charcoal, and basic supplies. 18 and over, under 18 allowed with parental attendance! Drop-ins welcome.$15 per session
