AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) _ The Maine Department of Labor is getting $4.85 million in grants that will help train workers for new careers after they have been laid off.
Maine's congressional delegation says the money will allow the state to expand on-the-job training and apprenticeship programs in high-demand industries.
Maine Sens. Susan Collins and Angus King say the grants will ease the transition for many as they re-enter the workforce.
More than $150 million of such grants are being distributed nationwide.
