The head of Maine’s Department of Marine Resources joins us to discuss the latest issues in Maine’s fishing industry - including efforts to protect right whales, the controversy over quotas for herring and developments in Maine’s aquaculture industry.
Pat Keliher, has been Commissioner of DMR since 2011. He previously served as Director of DMR’s Bureau of Sea Run Fisheries and Habitat. Before joining DMR, Pat was a self-employed Registered Maine Guide, then Executive Director of the Coastal Conservation Association of Maine, then Executive Director of the Coastal Conservation Association for Greater New England, and then Executive Director of the Maine Atlantic Salmon Commission.
