February 8 at 2 PM The Daponte String Quartet The Daponte String Quartet returns for a dazzling selection of extraordinary chamber music. The preeminent chamber music ensemble of the region offers classical and modern stringed instrument performance with violins, viola, and cello. They will fill the hall with grandeur and excitement for this wonderous performance. Suitable for all ages, this event will bring delightful music and immerse us all in the joyous sounds of strings. The Daponte String Quartet performs on the finest national musical circuits but is proud to call Maine its home. We are delighted to welcome them for a return engagement.
The Gatherings will be open for tailgating and watching the Super Bowl. Watch the game, win prizes! BYOB, snacks provided and bring some to share (optional). Games & raffles, family friendly event.
A free chess club open to anyone over the age of 10. All levels of experience are welcome. We have boards, but feel free to bring your own.

From February 2nd to February 14th, create a Valentine’s Day card at the Lewiston Public Library! Free supplies and crafting space will be available for adults on the 2nd floor and for children on the 3rd floor.

Mondays, January 12th, 19th, and 26th, 1 PM - 4 PM in the Kaleidoscope Studio at ArtWaves community arts center in Bar Harbor.
Join us for an intro/ intermediate impressionist landscape painting series.
Painting will be done on a 16x20" canvas board with acrylic paints of a sunrise view from the top of Cadillac Mountain.
We will work with BIG and GESTURAL strokes focusing on color relationships unique to Mount Desert Island. All materials and instructions provided.
Come to Lincoln Academy to learn about the registration process, course scheduling, and four-year planning directly from school counselors and faculty. The evening includes breakout sessions in various departments, as well as guided campus tours starting at 7:00 p.m. No registration is required; interested families should park across from the gym and arrive a few minutes early to sign in.
