Join participants and faculty at the end of each summer workshop session for a Walk-Through of the studios and campus!

Visit all the Haystack studios and view the work created during the session’s workshops.

A Silent Auction will be open throughout the duration of the Walk-Through. A Live Auction will begin at 5:00 PM. Auction proceeds benefit Haystack’s fellowship programs and studio improvements.

Note: Studio Walk-Throughs are free and self-guided.

One of Yankee Magazine's top five cemetery tours in New England! Walk Portland's Old Burying Ground with a trained guide. Hallowed? Not officially. Historic? Absolutely. Haunted? You decide. Visit the cemetery's unique field of underground tombs, the oldest gravemarker from 1717, the final resting place of the famed Captains of the 1813 battle between the Boxer and the Enterprise, and the interesting carvings of Portland's first stone-cutter, Bartlett Adams. Tours include early gravestone art, important local historic figures, Portland's historic events, and the landscape of this National Historic Landmark, including segregated sections for Black people, Catholics, Quakers, and strangers. Wear comfortable walking shoes, as the ground is uneven once we leave the main pathway. Tours are held unless the weather is stormy.

Join us at our weekly Local Goods Market! Celebrate local food and community while supporting small businesses! Held every Thursday from 4–7pm, the Local Goods Market features hot food, beverages, baked goods, and specialty products from Fork Food Lab members and other Maine makers. The weekly event offers the community a chance to support local businesses, discover new favorites, and connect directly with the entrepreneurs shaping the future of Maine’s food economy. The market features free & easy parking and a great community. Shop small and be part of something big!

Christine Murray, a Maine Master Naturalist, will lead this urban birding experience. We’ll gather at the Museum and begin our hour-long walk from there. Please wear weather-appropriate clothing and comfortable walking shoes, and bring water. A limited number of binoculars will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, so we encourage you to bring your own if you have them.

Join us for (one hour) Trivia in the brewhouse with our friend Megh. The questions will commence every Friday starting promptly at 6 pm. We recommend arriving early to get settled as missed questions are not repeated. Tickets are free but reservations are strongly recommended as we've been packed recently! Walk-ins are not guaranteed a seat, but we'll absolutely do our best to squeeze you in, if we can. If you are making a reservation for your team, please account for all the members of your team. Groups can be up to six players. Bite Into Maine will be here for all of your tasty dinner or snacking needs. As always we’ll have delicious beer, wine, cider, and n/a bevs flowing. We can’t wait to see you and your fantastic team names!

Open Mic hosted every Friday evening with Paul Connor. Great musicians, great music. You will see a wide variety of musicians each week. Paul is a very organized and talented musician. He always draws lots of new and seasoned talents. You will enjoy the family of musicians. Cherished Pub has great food & beverages available. Come enjoy all of the great music, have fun and relax. Join us for a beautiful scenic sunset paddle along the idyllic Dead and Pushaw Streams. This is a great time to see some crepuscular wildlife. We may see beaver, muskrat, eagles, herons, deer, and even moose on our journey. No matter what wildlife we see or miss, we are sure to see a spectacular sky as the sun sets.

This paddle will be held flotilla-style with canoes and kayaks. You may use one of our boats, or bring your own. Hirundo provides life jackets and all equipment as needed.

Tickets:

$18/adult (age 16 and up)

$8 for a child age 8-15.

Children under 8 are not permitted, for safety reasons.

Movie Night with Cats
Family friendly - stretch out and enjoy come kitty time while chillaxing with some classic movie selections.
Space is limited to 15 people.

Beginner workshops are perfect for you to grab your friends, grab a drink and come make tiny trees! We’re bringing the awesome art of bonsai out of the hedged in gardens and into the streets! Or at least into your favorite bars/breweries/pubs. Bonsai Bar is a night of fun you don’t want to miss. Learn the fundamental skills and techniques behind the art of bonsai while enjoying a night out with friends! Our teachers will introduce core concepts and guide your experience as you pot, prune, and design your very own bonsai tree! Our Guarantee: These tiny trees are so hardy we guarantee you can keep yours alive, or we’ll replace it.

This workshop will be hosted at Apres. At Après, we’re hellbent on offering craft beverage enthusiasts a unique way to enjoy what they love.
