Most people know that museums collect objects, put on exhibits and present programs, but just how do the staff go about doing those things? Saco Museum will feature some of its oldest collections dating from the late19th century, as well as recent acquisitions, to illustrate how the secrets are unveiled. Staff will be available most weekdays to answer questions. Exhibit hours: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, noon to 4 p.m.; Thursday, 4-8 p.m. (free admission); Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The experience includes a welcome sample of Allagash White. Starting May 1st we are tasting: Floating Holiday - blonde with lemon and sea salt, Dark Lager with Cherries, Cellar's #11 - barrel blend with wine grapes, and World on a String - bourbon barrel aged amber inspired by an "Old Fashioned" cocktail. Final pour is a "choose your own adventure" sample between two rotating options.

Tour-goers must be 21 or older. Infant-wearing is welcome - the tour path through our manufacturing plant is not suitable for young children or strollers. Guests who are not drinking beer will have a choice of NA beverage. Dogs are not allowed on this manufacturing plant tour.
After visiting Maine during childhood summers, writer and children’s author E.B. White eventually settled in Brooklin, Maine. On the 126th anniversary of E.B. White’s birth, join the Penobscot Marine Museum and Carver Memorial Library for an afternoon celebrating the author. Visit the FAINT ENDEAVOR, a sailing dinghy once owned by White, and enjoy Penobscot Marine Museum’s exhibits about the quintessential Maine boats, peapods. From 3pm to 5pm, enjoy special children’s activities and participate in reading excerpts from “Charlotte’s Web.” Then from 5pm-6:30pm, listen to fans read their favorite E. B. One of Yankee Magazine's top five cemetery tours in New England! Walk Portland's Old Burying Ground with a trained guide. Hallowed? Not officially. Historic? Absolutely. Haunted? You decide. Visit the cemetery's unique field of underground tombs, the oldest gravemarker from 1717, the final resting place of the famed Captains of the 1813 battle between the Boxer and the Enterprise, and the interesting carvings of Portland's first stone-cutter, Bartlett Adams. Tours include early gravestone art, important local historic figures, Portland's historic events, and the landscape of this National Historic Landmark, including segregated sections for Black people, Catholics, Quakers, and strangers. Wear comfortable walking shoes, as the ground is uneven once we leave the main pathway. Tours are held unless the weather is stormy.
For the first time since its inception, the Lunder Institute Summer Think Tank will feature a series of public programs, consisting of live performances, film screenings, and workshops developed and presented by the participants, which will provide the Colby Museum’s audiences with a unique opportunity to learn from the think tank as it’s happening.
