Maine Supreme Court Fast-Tracking LePage Request for Opinion on Vetoes

AUGUSTA, Maine - The state Supreme Court is inviting anyone with an interest to file comments with the law court by Friday afternoon on Gov. Paul LePage's questions on the validity of the vetoes that he sent to lawmakers last week.

The court is limiting the arguments to no more than 25 pages, but is allowing further arguments in response to the first set of comments to be submitted by noon the following Wednesday, July 29.

The court also scheduled oral arguments before the justices on July 31 at 9 a.m.

If the past is any indication, the court will likely issue its opinion sometime in August.
