U.S. Sen. Susan Collins was among a small group of Republican senators who met with President Donald Trump Thursday. Collins says impeachment was not a focus of the discussion.
Collins says most of the hour-long meeting, which also included Utah Senator Mitt Romney, was devoted to budget bills and other measures pending before Congress. She says the only mention of impeachment came from the President himself.
“The President did a little monologue at the beginning about impeachment but it was very brief and centered on his frustration with the process,” Collins says.
Collins says none of the senators present responded to the president’s comments, and that the discussion moved on to drug pricing legislation.
